Fresh Air

The tourist office offers several themed walks and excursions to help you explore nature. Take part in a morning walk in the forest or countryside and find out all about local flora and fauna. Opt for a nature excursion and set out to explore the trees and plants that are characteristic of each season (orchids, anemones, mushrooms, medicinal plants, trees, etc.). Discovery walks are themed circular walks of 2 to 4 miles that promise a great day out. How about having a go at archery? This healthy outdoor sport combines the benefits of walking with concentration.

A holiday in Bagnoles de l’Orne is, quite literally, a breath of fresh forest air.

Morning walks

Bright and early!

Explore the resort of Bagnoles de l’Orne Normandy on a morning walk led by a nature guide from the tourist office. From June to October, Madolyne will show you around Bagnoles’ parks, forest trails and country paths.
There are five different 2½ to 3-mile circular morning walks that start from the tourist office. These routes will take you through verdant nature in town or at the edge of the forest. Each walk lasts about two hours, so make sure you wear comfortable walking shoes

Practicalities:

From 10 years old
You might want to bring a bottle of water and wet weather clothing.


Discovery walks

Discover the flora and fauna of the forest and countryside

Discovery walks are outdoor excursions accompanied by one of Bagnoles de l’Orne’s nature guides. From March to November, Madolyne will guide you along the footpaths of the Forêt des Andaines or the byways of the Normandy countryside.

Practicalities:

From 10 years old. Make sure you wear good shoes. Dogs are not permitted. You might want to bring a bottle of water and wet weather clothing.


Guided Nature Walks

In search of nature

Enjoy an excursion accompanied by one of Bagnoles de l’Orne’s nature guides. From March to October, on Wednesdays during French school holidays and on some Saturdays, you can take part in a creative outdoor workshop or treasure hunt.

Each two-hour activity gives children the opportunity to connect with nature, to observe it and create something. Make a herbarium or insect house, try plant weaving or land art, hunt for animal tracks. or learn how to navigate using a compass, there are lots of activities to choose from!

Archery

Are you a good shot?

Our qualified instructor will safely introduce you to this ancient discipline! Equipped with bows and arrows, try to hit the bull’s-eye like a latter-day Robin Hood.

Bonus

All equipment is provided and there is a contingency plan for if the weather is bad.
