The swimming pool
A heated outdoor pool
The open air swimming pool at Bagnoles de l’Orne’s sports village is heated to 28°C throughout the summer. It has retained its 1960s architecture, although the changing rooms and showers are modern and functional having been renovated in 2013. Swimmers can use two 50-metre lanes and three 25-metre lanes.
The depth is from 0.80 m to 3.90 m and there is a diving pool and large movable inflatable for children. Deckchairs are freely available poolside, so you can sunbathe and relax by the water. The pool is also equipped with a hoist to enable disabled swimmers to access the water.
There are aquafit and “vélaqua” (a floating bike without pedals) sessions led by a swimming instructor. Group and individual swimming lessons are also available, as well as coaching to overcome aquaphobia. The “Les Dauphins Bagnolais” diving club offers introductions to diving and sub-aqua activities for those over 8.
