Four activities to try out in Bagnoles de l’Orne

With the help of one of the resort’s activity leaders, you can try out various fitness activities including Nordic walking, walking and hiking, or fitness classes in the open air.

Nordic walking

This activity comes from Scandinavia and is very beneficial for health. Nordic walking uses a pair of poles to help propel you along by accentuating the natural movement of the arms. It improves posture by working the whole of the upper body and helps breathing.

A session during a walk in the Forêt des Andaines with a sports coach will help you to learn how to co-ordinate your steps and use the poles correctly. You will also learn simple warm-up exercises to strengthen your joints as well as how to use the poles to stretch your muscles.

Discovery walks

If you’re not an avid walker but would still like to go for a stroll in the countryside, why not try a guided “balade découverte” discovery walk? These “easy” 3 to 4 mile walks enable you to spot various species of tree, wild plants and forest animals.
Other medium or difficult walks take steeper paths or require more stamina. These guided walks offer the opportunity to get some exercise while enjoying the local flora and fauna.

Outdoor fitness classes

What could be more effective than a gymnastics class to tone up your body and keep fit? How about Davina’s outdoor fitness classes on the terrace of Bagnoles de l’Orne’s outdoor swimming pool?

These outdoor fitness classes are perfect for getting in shape using simple cardio and strengthening exercises. Accompanied by music, you will go through a sequence of different movements to increase flexibility, strengthen your abs and develop stamina by working on your breathing.
