La Véloscénie

La Véloscénie is a cycle route that links Paris to Mont-Michel and passes through Bagnoles de l’Orne. Over more than 280 miles of cycle trails, greenways and small waymarked roads, La Véloscénie will help you explore the natural and cultural heritage of France.

From the resort of Bagnoles de l’Orne there are two sections of around twelve miles where you can explore part of the route through the forest and Normandy countryside:

La Vélo Francette

Setting off from the English Channel and heading down to the Atlantic, the Vélo Francette cycle route goes through Normandy, the Loire Valley and Poitou-Charentes. It covers a 370-mile route from Ouistreham to La Rochelle. The Vélo Francette passes close to Bagnoles de l’Orne through the commune of Domfront.

From the mediaeval town of Domfront, two routes head either north or south along a greenway:

Mountain bike trails

Cyclo tourism routes

Nearly 50 cycling routes ranging from 6 to 40 miles in length will enable you to explore the department of L’Orne by bike. There are four routes that start from Bagnoles de l’Orne in Normandy:

  • Bagnoles de l’Orne un terroir (a landscape: easy  – 28 miles)
