Theater show entitled "coucoù"

Coucoù retraces the last night of an old lady?s life, as she ruminates on her fantasies in her bedroom. Her memories unfold as she plays with the reality she can no longer control?

When you grow up, you open your albums. Having recently become a mother, Kristel Largis reopens her theater notebooks, and from all these scraps of memory, the story of her grandmother emerges. Of Spanish origin, she had invented an uprooted language for herself, and lived a life of toil devoted to her work as a factory worker and to her family of six children: an everyday heroine. Born Carmen, called Coucoù by her husband, her religious fervor seemed to be her only breath of freedom. Kristel and Coucoù had a special tenderness for each other, and Kristel loved to hear her tell her stories. Coucoù?s distant memories remained intact, but she quickly lost herself in the present and often disappeared into her thoughts.
It was this imaginary door that the author-director decided to open for her play. She doesn't know why her grandparents left Franco?s Spain in the 70s. It's a family secret to be invented.
