    5:00 p.m. – Square des Contades

    The band:

Far off the beaten path, the Hawaiian Pistoleros roam “their” “America,” an imaginary continent somewhere between Paris, Texas, and Twin Peaks: To the sound of the steel guitar and ukulele, you’ll encounter the ghosts of Bob Wills and Milton Brown, the lanky silhouette of Hank Williams, and the shadow of Gram Parsons…

But if you listen closely, you’ll also make out a few languid echoes of the Pacific, and if you hear the whistle of a train in the distance, it can only be the “Mystery Train” made famous in its day by the King himself?
For 13 years, the quintet has been forging its own unique path through the French music scene, drawing inspiration from an inexhaustible well of American popular music ranging from Western Swing to so-called “Hawaiian”EFenne %BB, while also venturing into much more contemporary styles.
The band excels at this delicate art of blending genres, walking a fine line between nostalgia and modernity to craft its own unique sound.
Following an EP nominated for the Academy of Western Artists Awards in 2016, and %AB Me And My Shadow %BB, an album illustrated by Bill Plympton in 2019, the Hawaiian Pistoleros have just released *Something Strange*, their first album of original compositions, mixed by Stew Crookes (Doug Paisley, The Weather Station) and co-produced by Coconut Island and MaAula Records.
