Visit the iron ore calcination kilns between La Ferrière-aux-Étangs and Dompierre, the only ones still in existence in the region. A truly unique piece of industrial heritage.

Explore the site to discover all the fascinating features of this unique mining facility, a testament to the Industrial Revolution and the era of steam trains.

You can combine this visit with a tour of the Forges de Varenne from Monday to Thursday at 2:30 PM and a tour of the Carreau de la Mine in Saint-Clair-de-Halouze on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11:00 AM. A €12 mining pass is available for purchase to combine all three guided tours.
